Elizabeth Jane Hurley, an English actress and model who became famous in the late 90s for being the girlfriend of Hugh Grant was an ex- English model. In the 1990s, when Grant was the center of attention in the media due to his worldwide box office success with Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied Grant in an elongated black Versace gown that was held in place by gold safety pins. Her appearance gained immediate publicity from the media. The highlight of Hurley's professional career has been her association with the cosmetics company Estee Lauder. Hurley was recruited by the company as their first model in the age of 29. In 1995 she's been a model for the company's products including Sensuous Intuition & Pleasures. Her most famous film work was when she played Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers' hit spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). Hurley is currently a model and designer for a beachwear collection named after her. Perry's initial efforts at mainstream stardom were fruitless with two separate record labels signing but then removing her prior to she had any new material released. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The title track was a cheerfully flippant track that received little attention. The song I Loved a Girl a straightforward ode to sexual curiosity, backed by a hardedged electro pop beat caused her to make a bigger splash just a few months after. The song quickly stirred controversy, as critics criticized its promotion of same-sex relationships while others claimed that the sexually explicit scene it depicted catered to the fantasies of males about sexuality in females. I Kissed a Girl became a worldwide number-one hit due to its combination of titillation with a polished melody. The song also assisted her to sell a number of albums, including The One of the Boys. Its bouncy, sharp-tongued and bouncy second single Hot N Cold also proving well-loved, the album the songs Perry wrote herself eventually registered sales of more than 3 million copies across the United States.
